Can diabetic patients donate blood?
The number of patients in diabetes is the highest in the world and this number is increasing day by day. Let us

tell you that most of the people are getting into this condition due to the poor lifestyle, stress and bad eating habits of the youth.

Medically, when your pancreata are unable to produce enough amounts of insulin and the amount of blood sugar in the body increases significantly, then such condition becomes diabetes itself.

Patients suffering from diabetes are very upset about whether they can donate their blood to someone else or not? Some patients are afraid that they do not have diabetes due to their blood due to which they are donating. We have talked to Dr. Sanjay Reddy, Consultant Diabetologist of Fortis Hospital located at Cunningham Road, Bangalore.

He told that those patients who have previously used Bovine insulin are forbidden to do blood donate because they may be at risk of mad cow disease. However, if the diabetic patient has no problem with eye, kidney or blood arteries, then he can easily donate his blood to someone else. If you still have any doubts then go to the doctor once and get your checkup.
If you are a patient of diabetes and are going to donate your blood then keep these things in mind before you.

Get your sleep done well
Eat nutritious food
Drink a lot of water

Take care of these things after having diabetic patients blood donate.

Keep checking your blood sugar level
Eat healthy diets.
Eat iron-rich items for 24 weeks after donation.
Add more and more healthy things daily in the diet.
If you get sick after blood donates, then you should immediately go to the doctor and do your check-up.
